International Scarf Exchange Pal

My pal got her box today.

http://ravelling.blogspot.com/2006/09/now-autumns-fire-burns-slowly-along.html

I am glad that she like everthing. I was a little worried.

I took a soap making class today. It looked easy. I just needed to get the supplies. The stuff you use to make soap should not be used to cook with.

International Scarf Exchange

It is the mail. She should get it any day now.

sock wars

Well this is as far as I got. The color strips is differnt in this yarn. It is very random. I think that I might have knit it a little to loose. Oh well, I do not get to finsh it. I sent it off overnight and Rachel should get it by noon Friday.

Here are my socks. They are very cool. I am a little sad that I did not get farther. I lost before I even got the info on the person that I was knitting for.

Not a cold but a sinus infection

Well it turns out that I have a sinus infection. This is not fun. I take darvacet for back pain and my sinus still hurt. So I spent 3 hours in my Dr's office to get a antibotic. I then spent $50 at walgreens for all of the meds and stuff. Not fun. Tonight I am going to Target to get a humidifier, this should help.

Lunch for the week

Here is my lunch for most of the week. I think that I need one or two more boxes to be able to make a week's worth of lunch at one time. I like to do that so I do not have to think in the morning when I leave for the day. This week looks to be pasta, tomatos, carrets and raspberries for a few days.

What I knitting now

I finshed the International Scarf Exchange scarf, now I making a felt bag, the yarn is cascade in purple and cascade that I colored with kool-aid. It looks very cool. I like the way the pattern is coming out.

I am also on the third try on the fingerless gloves. I think that I will like the way this one is going. The yarn is fun to knit with. It is Socks that Rock.

International Scarf Exchange

I finshed my pal's scarf. It looks very small unblocked. It was very cool to see the pattern came out when I began to block it. I was able to finish it this soon because I had to wait most of Saturday waiting for my car to be fixed.

Now I am getting the box together to mail. I am trying to think of what I can get in the US that can not be found in England. I have some Socks that Rock yarn that I think that I will be able to send.

Last week

Last week was not a fun week. I thought I had a cold, it turns I have allergies. To what I do not know. It is very frustrating. I had the sneezing, itching eyes, nose and throat, and a very bad sinus headach. I did not figure out what was happening until I talked to my dad. He knew what the symtoms were. At least now I know what is going on. The next time I go into the Dr.'s I am going to see If I can get an allergy test.

this weeks bento's

Mondays bento was celery and tomatos on top and mac'chees with corn and peas on bottom, with a pear for snack.

Wed. bento was celery and tomatos on top and rice on bottom. I made the chicken soup and added the rice to it. I also had a pear.

my tea stash

As I was taking pictures of my tea stash I realized that I tend to buy a tea, drink it all and then buy another. I do not have much of a stash and what I do have at home is tea you drink when you are sick, hence the celestial seasonings tea, the Chi is for when I henna my hair. I use the Mr. Coffee to make the hot water, it has on auto turn off feature. Which is nice. I tend to like the breakfast teas, I switched to tea when I could no longer drink coffee.

The tea at work is the tea I tend to drink more often. The gold box is some girl genius oolong tea. I used to have some Awake tea, but I drank it and can not seem to find any more of the loose leaf kind.

mice

Eeeeekk! I have mice in my garage. I saw some dropping so I put out one of those traps that when the mouse is caught that you do not see it, a red maker is visable if anything is caught.

After one night there was something there. Man, this does not make me happy. I do have all of the food I put in the garage in plastic bins. I had a mouse problem in the spring and was hopping that would be the end of it. Oh well. Now I have to buy a bunch of traps.

My first bento

I found the coolest box at Lows for only $2.99. I had to get it. Here is my first Bento lunch. It is some cherry tomatoes and cucumbers on top and spaghetti in the bottom tier.

It works well, except that it is not water proof.

International Scarf Exchange

I signed up for the International Scarf Exchange and I just got my Pal. She likes the color purple and sheep, silver, coffee and other things. I am going to make a lace scarf out of alpca yarn.

I started it yesterday. It is going well, 23 rows and only 2 pattern repeats I just have to figure out how to block it. I havenever make anything that has to be blocked before.

socks that rock yarn

I have some bright pink varigated Socks that Rock yarn that I am making some fingerless gloves for my sister with. This is going to look very cool. The yarn is a little brighter pink.

I am also making Megan's Counterpane/Coverlet Square. This is hard going, knitting with cotton for any lenth of time makes my hand hurt. This is going to be a baby blanket for a friend of mine. I was going to make a log cabin blankt but is was a little boring and not as much fun. I figured it my hand was going to hurt no matter what I made I was going to make something cool.

"Crocodile Hunter" Irwin dies

non knitting related news, Steve Irwin died. I am not surprised but this is still sad.
